Memorials

God commanded Joseph to lay stones as a reminder in nine different places as a sort of memorial. These stones were to not only remind the people where they came from, what struggle they had experienced, but also as a reminder of the place where God brought them to. Our Lord tells us how important it is that we never forget our past and we must pass that history on to our children so they can learn from it. We are not to live in our past, but we also shouldn't forget it. We must always remember what God has done for us. We must also find others who are willing to hold us accountable and who are courageous enough and love us enough to reel us back in when we are straying from His ways. Sin must be confronted, it should never be condoned or praised. Too often we see people who keep their mouth shut when they see loved ones sinning and in fact, go as far as to say they are "happy" for them if they're happy. This is so dangerous and so sad. If we truly love them we must seek God's guidance and instruction in how to confront the sin. These instructions are in His word. You can find them in James, Corinthians and Galatians. I invite my brothers and sisters in Christ to hold me accountable according to His word. I never want to go backwards or remain stagnant. I desire to grow closer to Him, to honor and serve Him. If you see me veering off, please, come to me privately and show me my errors. I love you guys. It's time to step-up our Spiritual walk and be courageous and bold for Him! Merely reading the Word or going to church isn't enough. We must be doers of the Word.
