kingdom focused

Kingdom Focused. If you're not sure of your future, your purpose, or your goals, may I suggest reading Nehemiah and Micah. What powerful insight into our future. Full of clear, direct messages about how we live our lives now and about what our future holds. These Prophets make it obvious that our trust and hope is not to be in the things of men but in our victorious King. Our delights are not to be in our works and talents, but in our faithful Redeemer. Our goals are not to be of this earth but of His Kingdom to come. If we get so wrapped up in earthly success we are missing the desires and will of our Father. If we are so wrapped up in ourselves we miss the beauty and meaning of the Cross. I have a lot of work to do in myself. I fall so short from His will. I desire to be at the top of the mountain with His face shining on mine. I want my words to be His. I want my thoughts to be His. I want my desires to be His.
Lord, take away the ugly in me. Sculpt away the flesh. Sweep away the dirt. Remove the world from within me. Cut away the anger. Fill me with as much of You as you're willing. Reside in me my Lord. Live and work through me. Do great and mighty things for Your glory, for Your Kingdom! Surround me with your people, with your counsel, with your angels. Use me Lord. Amen.

Sardis

Is your church alive with the Spirit of God? Can you feel His presence in that place? I personally believe The Church is asleep. We can see from Revelation 3:1-6 that much like the Church of Sardis, the present day Church is in a slumber. A few points stand out to me here.
First, the city of Sardis was able to be captured twice because its Sentries were asleep on the job. They were supposed to be the first line of defense, the wall of security. They failed, thus Sardis was captured. I believe the pastors, deacons and elders represent the Sentries of the Church. When they are asleep on the job, have grown complacent, comfortable and content, the Church becomes vulnerable to attacks and captured by the enemy.
Secondly, no manmade program can bring life to the Church. Life can only be brought to the Church by the Spirit. When the Spirit is "grieved" the life of the Church evaporates. But when Believers confess and repent their sin; make amends with God and each other, the Spirit is invited in and revival can take place.
Thirdly, where there is no persecution it is evidence that the enemy's territory hasn't been invaded. What I mean is that Satan hasn't felt threatened, therefore He doesn't attack. In other words, if everything is comfortable and calm in the Church, it's most likely because the Church's witness isn't aggressive enough to threaten Satan. "No friction usually means no motion!"-Warren Wiesrbe. When the world sees the Church as respectable and agreeable that should indicate to its Believers that something is wrong because the Church is seen as neither dangerous or desirable.
When something is alive there is evidence of growth, mending, reproduction and power. Otherwise, it's dead. So to the Church, "Wake-up! Be watchful! Repent! Remember the Word you have received and obey it!"

Weak coffee is like weak faith, it lacks boldness and flavor and leaves very little after taste.
